I was on Amazon reading comments about people bashing and defending JKR and someone wrote the best thing I've read in a while.

Hmmmm...maybe that's not such a bad idea after all. Should we start putting the WWLLD bumper stickers on our cars?

WWNLD would be good too (Neville Longbottom).

LOL - would Luna Lovegood "do" Neville Longbottom? JKR nixed that idea but after Neville turned action hero in Book7, I think the answer has got to be yes.

And I love you, I love you, I love you.

Luna has been one of my favorite characters for a while. I hated that we lost sight of her for a while in Book 6, but we made up for that in DH, didn't we? I know lots of people like Luna with Neville, but pre-DH I liked the idea of Luna/Draco. He could do with love from someone who cared more about internals than externals. (After DH, I'm not sure who could help Draco best.) And I think movie!Luna is about the only one of the characters where the movie actually adds positively to my picture of the character.

I've always thought a brick-bat would be a perfect match for Draco.

Lol! A brick bat. Hehe. I guess I always imagined he'd be stuck with Pugfaced Pansy.

Yeah, Sunsethill, movie!Luna is perfect. She has kind of an etheral quality to her. But then Luna isn't your average girl anyway.

And she has great sweaters! Now I've got the DVD, I'm going to see if I can't nail down some patterns.

I love Evanna Lynch. I get heartbroken by all the Evanna!hate on IMDB message boards.

The only problem I have with her being cast as Luna is that now Xenophilius is going to have to speak in an Irish accent, which means Stephen Fry, who is terrible at accents, can't play him

As to the avatar, well, if you girls can all have Alan Rickman...

Aww, I thought Evanna was a popular choice for Luna. I've never heard anything bad said about her, though that said, I myself didn't even bother watching the film. All the same, I'm delighted movie!Luna is Irish. But yes, letting Stephen Fry within a mile of an Irish accent would be a VERY BAD IDEA. Which is a shame, because I'd love for him to play Xenophilius (even though I still wouldn't bother going to see the film - honestly, I don't even know why I'm commenting on it!).

After DH, I would agree. I had hopes for the boy--but he is--after all--a Slytherin, which by definition means he was hopeless from the start.

And I didn't notice Luna's sweaters, Siobhan. I'll have to watch for that, too, when we get the DVD. I was having so much fun knitting a few years ago, but all the fun just leached out for no apparent reason. I blame menopause. (I blame menopause for everything now!)

I love movie!Luna. I knew it would be difficult to translate her to the screen, she is one of the most unique characters in the book.

Well, didn't she nix the idea that they ended up together? Luna "doing" Neville is different than them getting married. I'm sure even magical people have flings.
