No, but it's more shocking. I can't believe two hours lapsed between shootings and they didn't do anything! Who would have thought twenty years ago that schools and universities would be the most dangerous place to work and be in.

Are you watching the coverage on the news?

No, I don't see the point. They didn't do anything because they thought it was a domestic incident or something. I can't believe it. How can you treat ANY shooting as something unimportant?

On a totally different note, have you ever made your own greeting cards?

I missed the thread's origination, but I did get to read all the old posts after I signed up. IIRC, it started with the question "Whatever happened to Barty Crouch?" In the book, after BC Jr. killed his fater, he transfigured him into a bone and buried him in the soft earth in front of Hagrid's cabin. The thread addressed the question of whatever happened to that bone after it was buried. Was it dug up and eaten by a magical creature, or is it still there? As you can imagine, the answers became the stuff of legend.

Who do you think ate Barty Crouch?

Pesky, you are correct. My guess was always Fang. Such a logical choice because he lived there with Hagrid and had more access than anyone. Of course, we did had a large amount of Padfoot support on that thread.

Where is the weirdest place you've ever read a book?

Are we talking about real reading or Stephen Fry reading? If real reading I think a tree is the weirdest place. If Stephen Fry reading never anywhere really unconventional.

No. I don't chew on anything much - not pencils, fingernails, pen caps.

What's the current state of your fingernails?

Various lengths. Very bad, I know. Usually I wear them short, but not really short. But I don't like them long. It's too difficult to maneuver with them.

Do you have any hobbies?

I used to draw/paint a lot, but I'm so busy with work, travelling around, keeping the house cleanish, looking after my son and doing bits for the Lexicon that I haven't got time for anything these days. Sigh.

What's the weirdest hobby you've ever come across?

I saw that guy on Leno once. Ewwww!

I'm not familiar with the Scotland issue so I can't express an opinion of any real merit. The American in me says yes to Independence in general, but that's more a comment on our culture than the real situation in Britain.

Most bankers I've met treat me with contempt, so no.

Is there any profession you consider beneath contempt?

Well, what is prostitution? Sexual rights between two parties (male and female; it's only tradition that says all whores are women) exchanged for set financial securities to be decided upon cessation or breakage of the contract. Isn't that what marriage is?

Will I be banned for saying that?

I don't think so.

And I don't think you've been to many prostitutes, Diri - the price is set up front. Not that I blame you - since it's an illegal profession, there's no mandated health inspections and.. well, I won't got there. But I personally think it should be legalized and regulated.

Are you cold right now?

I am taking the train to Ruth's to see her off to the airport, since she has to go to South Africa for her work for two weeks. Then I'll cry a bit, then I'll attack my next deadline, and then I'll be all nervous until her plane has landed (twice: first to Johannesburg and then to Cape Town).

ETA: almost forgot, I shall also be taking plenty of painkillers, feeling generally woozy, and spending a lot of time in the littlest room because it's that time again.

We had all our windows replaced with new double-panes a few years ago. I think the old ones were double-pane too, but they didn't have an air space between the glass. The new ones tilt in to clean too ... I love them!

Two stories, not counting the basement. The bathroom is in the basement, so I've learned to go potty before bedtime because it's not fun having to go down two flights of stairs and then come back up two flights in middle of the night. By that time I'm wide awake.

Would you rather live in the city, a small town, or the country?

I haven't watched it, but I've heard alot about it on a dollhouse/miniatures board I visit. People there are facinated by it because of the miniature angle, but I've not caught any of it. Some are frustrated that it's still being strung out.

Since my husband is traveling tonight and I don't have to work tomorrow, I plan to stay up half the night sipping merlot, nibbling brie, listening to Andrew Lloyd Weber, and reading HPCoS. A real swingin' gal I am.

do you prefer over-the-ears headphones or the ones that go in your ears?

I really prefer no headphones, but if they're the only option, I'd pick the little ones that fit in your ears. I can never get the over-the-head type to fit properly without sliding off all the time.

What's for lunch?

Hmmm...I'll probably skip it today, or eat some oreos. I only worked half day so I didn't stay for lunch. Now I'm off to go shopping. I really shouldn't skip, but I'll go out to a restaurant tonight and over eat like most people do.

I hate those little headphones you stick in your ears. They're always too big and don't fit right. I'd rather have those that go over my ear.

What's for dinner?
