I suppose, if it tasted all right. I never really thought about it that way.

The Master and Margarita, by Mikhail Bulgakov - if you haven't read it, you should - it's totally wonderful.

Would you be offended by being asked to prove your most recent salary by a prospective employer.. before they'll make you an offer?

Good question. My husband has changed employers several times and has never been never asked to prove his salary. Must be a new thing ... probably because too many people exaggerate (lie) on their resumes these days.

When's the last time you changed jobs?

Hopefully this summer! I'm so sick of subbing. I seriously thinking of just giving up teaching and going back to office work. I got asked a few weeks ago if I was interested in an office job. I don't enjoy office work, but I need a steady salary and benefits.

AMC, I would take that as a screening tactic in interviewing. If your salary is higher than they're willing to give you then they might look in another direction. People get passed up for too much experience just as much as no experience.

Not really - I liked Peter Rabbit but a lot of the other stories left me cold. Loved the illustrations.

Which Deadly Sin do you commit most frequently? (FYI, they would be: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride)

Coffee with lowfat milk and a touch of vanilla syrup, or green tea with a lemon slice.

How many phones do you have (land lines, extensions and/or cells)?

3 landlines + 1 mobile (aka cell) = 4.

There are 9 living birds perched on a branch of a tree. A hunter comes along, shoots 1 shot from his rifle, and 1 of the aforementioned birds on the branch dies as a direct result (ie the hunter shoots it dead). This dead bird falls off the tree. How many birds are left on that branch, and why?

:)

I had 4 different pets between the time I was born and when I was 14, and their names were Stinger (dog), Nikki (cat), Abby (dog), and Jake (dog).

Hmmm.. how foolish?

I haven't slept with someone on the first date for decades. And my experimenting with drugs days are also long gone. But I frequently do bone-headed things like leaving my house keys hanging from my front door lock all night. I used to make all kinds of stupid impulsive mistakes - but my life is so middle-aged dull these days there's very little room for stupid impulse.

Why?

I just made a moronic/foolish mistake. (I meant things like leaving keys in the front door. It's not serious, just a dumb mistake)

How do you pronounce the word "aunt"? Like haunt without the h or like ant?

Usually the first way, like haunt, but if I'm talking with someone who just said "ant," I might say it that way too due to power of suggestion.

Have you ever been told you speak with an accent?

Yes, but only by foreigners. Years of elocution lessons have taken most of the regional flavour out of my accent, so as far as Irish accents go, it's fairly generic (though I reckon it'd still be pretty easy to guess which province I hail from).

What's the last book you read?

Yes, I agree; pomegranates only taste good when foreigners eat them.

As you can probably guess, no I don't like the taste of pomegranate, which makes me feel inferior because all the Greek myths I've read always go on about luscuious and exquisite they are.

The last book I read was "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". Been going on a Holmes binge recently because they've announced a new movie series coming out.

Do you like reading editorial columns in newspapers?

How exactly do you taste Pomegranates by foreigners... maybe if you kiss a foreigner who has been indulging in the fruit?

Have you ever kissed a foreigner?

yummy, but it needs something else with it.

The word "Hello" was rarely used until Alexander Graham Bell suggested it as a salutation for use on the telephone. He also suggested "Ahoy." Do you think he should have stuck with that?
