I've only just read the new postings at JKR.com. I was hoping for sooooo much more, but a little is better than none, so I shouldn't complain. Perhaps she'll post something for Halloweeeeeeeeeen.

Update galore at JKR.com!!!*does cartwheels*
Diary entry talks about inventing words

News talks about Ebay and Banned Books week (Harry Potter topped the list of most challenged books this year)

Rumours debunked:
-Stubby Boardman is Regulus Black
-Snape was wearing Cloak the night the Potters died
-Book 7: HP and the Graveyard of Memories

New fan site award and...

THE DOOR OPENED!!!
Instructions:

1. Click the door handle to open the door.
2. Click on the candle to light it.
3. Click on the dark red quill.
4. Click on the WOMBAT paper.
5. Click on the clover at the bottom left of the desk. It will turn into a key.
6. Drag this key to the desk drawer - the top of the key must touch the drawer. It must be placed it the dead centre of the handle.
7. The drawer will open, revealing the WOMBAT part two exam.
8. Click the hourglass on the desk.
9. You can now begin your exam - good luck!-->

It's WOMBATs grade 2 and god, it was so hard. I've gone through it once on instinct and now I'm gonna try it again, Lexicon-aided
Some of the questions gave some interesting insights into the workings of the Wizarding World. More on that later.
I love HP too much. Can't you tell I'm excited? I overuse smilies when I'm excited!!!

Well I went through it once and then had time left so I went back and checked my answers. I didn't change many - some of them were pretty iffy.. I guess I'd better not post which ones just yet. I liked the fact that they let you enter your ID from the first test.. felt like it kep me honest!

And I love you, I love you, I love you.

I feel so guilty!!!! I'm not all that interested in another WOMBAT level. Guess I was hoping for more information on obscure characters and a new poll.

My scores went down. On Level 1 I got an Outstanding. This time at Level 2 I received an Exceeds Expectations. Still a good score, but not as good as before. I wonder if anyone really receives under an EE. I was looking through Leaky comments and I don't think anyone got below that.

I got an "Outstanding," which surprised me because I wasn't comfortable with any of my answers -- or should I say, guesses.

A quick analysis of the poll on Leaky provides the following distribution of scores:

15% -- Outstanding
65% -- Exceeds Expectations
17% -- Acceptable
3% -- Poor or Dreadful

No "Ts" though. Or at least noone admitted to it.

Well darn - I got an Exceeds Expectations again and I was really TRYING this time - I guess I'm just doomed to be a "B" student!

Same here. I was so frustrated that I didn't even take the test and now I am angry at myself and wish I had taken it.

I feel exactly the same (except that I don't feel guilty about it )

Oooo! I feel like Hermione - give me more tests! Give me harder ones! Let me re-take the old ones after I've studied! I love the WOMBATS.

I got an E also. But, in all fairness, I wasnt' trying overly hard..and I was rushing because I kept getting interrupted the whole time My husband finally stopped my kids and said 'Mommy is taking a very important test..and it's timed..so leave her be' The whole scene was very funny...and very Hermione-ish also

I had fun doing it--and got the same score as the first one--E. So, at least I'm consistent.

And yes, from the sound of it, some people do get much lower than A. I don't think I'd admit it, but it's amazing that people post it as part of their signature.

Yep, like JKR said, it is possible to fail. The people who get fail grades don't get a framed certificate, but a letter. If you're curious, you can use these codes from mugglenet to see them. The troll one is particularly good:

Troll: lZ2ZjJCBkfiiOOqSEtbeP
Dreadful: 9xIBcjisKIh3AITSkuzFd
Acceptable: 3k5Ogs73TTYYCjIjVyoEA
Exceeds Expectations: 6KiUYnIDBSROBrz5lZsVJ
Outstanding: oikAUddnP676DlNWZoEFG

LOL U-No-Poo, I love your avatar!

I so hope for a Book 7 update soon. Right now I am in my "I just need to know what will happen to Snape"-phase again.

I'm feeling pretty pleased with JKR right now - her Wizard of the Month for November is a "heartthrob" singer... born in 1964. I feel younger all of a sudden.

Well, I haven't been keeping tabs but the WotM for May is - Helga Hufflepuff, dressed to the nines.. and holding that cup of hers. She's just taunting us, the wench - I know she is.

I wish we'd get some spoilers to discuss - we only have a couple of months left!

I'm guessing they'll give us some info when it's 60 days to the book release. It just seems like something they'd do. Did you also check out the FAQ's? There's more info on Draco and she tells us what houses Tonks and Myrtle were in.

I'd always imagined Tonks was Hufflepuff and Myrtle was Ravenclaw. Nice to know I was right.

I am glad that she answered the patronus question. It definitely shows us Bella's priorities: She taught Draco occlumency, but obviously never even thought of teaching him how to cast a patronus.

Her diary is updated. She talks mostly about thanking Leaky Cauldron for their firm stance against spoilers.

She finishes with "even if somebody discovers the Giant Squid is actually the world's largest Animagus, which rises from the lake at the eleventh hour, transforms into Godric Gryffindor and... well, I wouldn't like to spoil it."

"I think she's magic," said Nor.
________"You, you think everything's magic," Manek said. "Stupid girl."
____"Well, everything is," said Nor. - Wicked

WOMBAT 3 is up!
Strangely, I've found it the easiest. Possibly because it's the shortest.
Ideas that occured to me while taking it:
I've always wondered whether there would be a magic school in every single country with wizards. Must be, right?
Egypt as the hub of alchemy seems very fitting (Alchemist's Cell... Pyramids of Furmat... remember?)... if there IS an Insitute of Alchemy in this day and age. I don't see why not.
Reckon using a spell to simulate sunlight (like in the PS movie) can be used to turn a werewolf back to human, even if just temporarily?

I would say no. I think that if the full moon is out a warewolf will be a warewolf, even if you "cover" it with sunlight

The door is open again, concealing a long, long note, thanking all the people who helped Jo and Harry along the way .

You'll like the current Wizard of the Month. Today it's McGonagall's birthday, so you won't be able to see it, but check it out tommorrow, or after midnight.
Spoiler:
Congrats on the promotion, Harry!
